Session 3: Of Peanut Butter and Betrayal

The 14th of Highsun
Day 2
Even after goblins and godly interactions, some of our group was still spunk enough to take on some more challenges. With all that had happened, and how quickly it had happened, some people were unsure of the future of The Legion of Dungeon Misfits. And as Kemlar made arrangements with some of the group on guild matters, Othello asked Kirito the Halfling Wizard, Yonan, Arnold, the Succubus and Bryn to accompany her on a small excursion. They, still excited about all they had accomplished in the day already, gladly accepted the chance to get even more experience out in the world.
They wandered about as Othello kept up some small talk, until, just by chance, they stumbled upon a small cave system along the shore. Othello, hoping to ensure that her companions trusted her, told them that she would lead them in exploring the cavern. The others accepted her temporary leadership position as they entered it.
Once inside, the group, especially Othello, could make out an overwhelmingly strong smell. They moved a bit farther in and could tell that the floor and walls were covered in a light brown paste. Thick vines and roots were hear and there amongst the brown paste. Arnold made a nature check on the paste to find out that it indeed was natural, but she couldn't determine exactly what it was. Othello, wanting to show them how brave she really was, and drawn to the substance for some reason anyways, scooped up a small bit with her fingers and gave it a small lick. And, it was surprisingly good. The gooey paste tasted of sweetened nuts of some kind and stuck to the roof of Othello's mouth.
She invited the rest of the group to try it, first they waited a minute to make sure that she didn't drop dead before they laid their lips on it. When it was ruled that Othello would not in fact be dropping dead, and the following soon after, they too tried the strange food substance. Finally Yonan recalled that he believed he had heard of the stuff before, and that it was called "peanut butter." Knowing that they had stumbled upon something of some interest, they began to fill some of the empty containers that they had on them with it.
They dove deeper into the cavern, Othello still making an effort to remove the peanut butter from the roof of her mouth. With her concentrating on the roof of her mouth, they were unaware of the presence of any other beings until they ran right into them. A handful of goblins, hands covered in to nutty sweet stuff, were gorging themselves on it, scooping it off the walls and floor. When they realized that the group was their, they instantly bacame hostile, worrying that they were after their endless food supply.
Drawing their daggers and half spears, combat ensued. Othello, still having troubles with the peanut butter, was unable to concentrate on her Psionics long enough to accomplish anything. Yonan was about to attack the goblins head, with Kirito giving support fire from the back, before the Succubus stepped forward. The goblins, who were quite stuffed with peanut butter by this time, were slow and groggy as they looked up to see the Succubus upon them. Using her seductive powers on the goblins, they were all entranced by her, willing to follow her every word. Othello finally defeated the peanut butter just as the group was ready to move on. As they did, Sara commented on how well that had went and that it was by her superior leadership that it had gone so well. Arnold and Yonan gave quite scoffs at her bragging and storytelling. Kirito, unaware of the reputation of everyone in The Legion of Dungeon Misfits, did not necessarily look against Othello and her comments.
They found little with the goblins, but saw that they too had been filling jars and containers with the peanut butter. About five or six various jars were filled to the brim. The group distributed another jar to everyone and as the Succubus studied her jar, she could see that there was an ominous hole in the peanut butter. Something seemed to have been pushed into the peanut butter previously. Dark thoughts entered he head as she thought of the goblins that had possession of the peanut butter before her. Cautiously, she put it in the deepest recesses of her bag.
Even still, the group moved into a deeper part of the cavern, the Succubus lighting the way. It was here in these dim recesses of the cavern that they stumbled upon a gathering of Kobolds, indulging themselves similarly to the goblins. Yonan began to sneak around them, waiting for his chance to strike, just before the Succubus blinded them temporarily with a fiery flash from her bosom. When they, and Yonan, could see again, the Succubus was upon them, seducing them with her whims of fire and heat. They quickly obliged to her offer of seduction and began to follow behind her entrancing form.
As the group turned around to leave he cavern, satisfied with their gains and not able to go any further, they came face to face with three baby drakes. Each one with a burning rage in its eyes. They had obviously disturbed some respite of these creatures.
Arnold bravely stepped forth towards them. He spoke softly and quietly in Draconic to them, telling them that the group meant them no harm. By some miracle, his diplomacy with them worked as they began to nuzzle their faces on him. Kirito, now very interested in this area of the cavern. He looked around, scouring for anything of interest. Amongst the vines and such, he could only make out the faintest glimmer of something underneath some vines. He pushed them back to find a large, oval shaped rock. It glimmered slightly between the spots of peanut butter that were stuck to it.
Othello immediately offered the Halfling a bottle of mead for the stone. After another bottle and some gold was added to the deal, Kirito finally gave in. Othello's Lupin sense of smell assured her that this was an egg, a dragon egg. But she didn't tell Kirito that. She also convinced Arnold to lend her use of their new baby dragon allies.
Once outside of the peanut butter cavern, she came out with her real motive for dragging them all the way out here. She explained that Kemlar was a Werewolf and could not be trusted, solely for that reason alone. Her will had been being tested by not already slaughtering him. And for the fact that she was a much better choice for Guild Master, especially now, since she now had the three dragons on her side and a fourth going to hatch from the egg.
Othello's true colors were being shown, and not in a good way. Still, the group remained quiet as she ranted all the way back to Mr. Fancypants' old mansion, where she proceeded to draw the rest of the group into the conversation. Kemlar, Celestia, Yonan, the Succubus, and Kemlar's old friend Gordney, an Elf Ranger, were the only ones not present as Othello began another exasperating rant in front of the mansion, as they went to talk on their own.
